Experiment with boosting rules to see what the results are. You may need to adjust the Score of rules to get the desired effect.
Create a New Boosting Rule
Creating your first boosting rule is simple and can be done in seconds.
- Using the main navigation navigate to Merchandising > Boosting Rules
- Click on the button titled [ + NEW ], a modal popup will appear for you to define your boosting rule.
- Name
Define a name for the business rule. Use something that will make sense to you when you need to find the rule later. - Publish Date
By defining a publish date you can plan out your boosting rules in advance and/or create rules that never expire.- Active To
This is required, click on the field and choose a date which you wish for the boosting rule to take effect. Typically this will be the same day as you are creating it. - Until
This is NOT required, and if left blank, the rule does not have an expiration date. You can however choose a date that the rule is to expire.

Define the relevancy score multiplier. Learn more about how the boosting rule scoring works here.
You may use the following values:
๐ผ 1.1 - 10 - Promotes of boosts results
๐ฝ 0.1 - 0.9 - Demotes or de-boosts results - Next, define the additive characteristics of the rule to be applied to products in the search results.
- Products (Max Limit 20)
Enter in keyword terms to find and select the individual products you want to boost. Entering in a part number will give you the quickest and concise result. - Brand Assignment (Max Limit 20)
Enter in keyword to find and select individual brands of products you wish to boost. - Categories Assignment (Max Limit 20)
Enter in keyword to find and select individual categories you wish to boost.boost products by category assignment.
โ ๏ธNote: This characteristic only applies to the end category assignment and not the parent category assignment. - Price Range (Max Limit 2)
You may define a single price or a price range.- Greater than
- Greater than or equal to
- Less than
- Less than or equal to
- Products (Max Limit 20)
- Name
- After you have defined your rule, click on the [ SAVE ] button.

๐ Immediate Effect - Boosting rules take effect immediately. When you create, edit, or delete a boosting rule you can check the effect immediately by searching your website.
Editing an Existing Boosting Rule
You may edit and adjust your boosting rules.
- Using the main navigation navigate to Merchandising > Boosting Rules
- Locate the desired boosting rule that you wish to edit. Some tips on finding your boosting rule include:
- Use the search bar near the top right of the page, enter in a keyword to find the boosting rule name
- Or click on the table column headers to sort the rules by name and find it that way.
- For the rule you wish to edit, click the โ๏ธedit icon.
- The modal popup is presented and you may edit the boosting rule.
- When done click on the [ SAVE ] button to save our changes.
- You can also click the [ CANCEL ] button if you wish for those changes to not save.
Delete an Existing Boosting Rule
You may delete your boosting rules at anytime.
- Using the main navigation navigate to Merchandising > Boosting Rules
- Locate the desired boosting rule that you wish to delete.
- Click on the ๐๏ธ delete icon. A confirmation modal popup will ask that your are sure you want to delete the rule. Click on [ Yes, Delete boosting rule ]
