Customizing Vehicle Search (YMM) and Fitment Behavior on Your Store

Web Shop Manager offers a number of ways to fine-tune how your store handles vehicle fitment, product searches, and bulk catalog tasks. Many of these behaviors can be adjusted to match the way you and your customers shop. This article explains the most commonly requested enhancements and how to get them set up.

Year/Make/Model (YMM) Search and Fitment Options

If your store uses Year/Make/Model (YMM) vehicle lookup, you can request several adjustments to how it behaves for your shoppers:

    • Pre-select "Fitment Specific" after a YMM search. When a customer selects their vehicle and lands on the search or results page, the store can be configured to automatically show only parts that fit their selected vehicle.
    • Handle universal (no-fitment) products. Some products — such as tips, mufflers, or marine parts — are universal and do not require a vehicle to be selected. Your catalog can be set up so these items display correctly without requiring fitment.
    • Adjust admin search behavior. Options such as clearing the selected vehicle fitment when a search is started, or offering a universal vs. vehicle-specific filter, can also be evaluated for your store.

Because these are customizations to how vehicle search works on your specific site, they are configured on a per-store basis by our team.

How to request a YMM or fitment change

    • Open a support ticket describing the exact behavior you want (for example, "pre-select Fitment Specific after a YMM search").
    • Include the page or search URL where you'd like the change to apply, if applicable.
    • Our team will review the request, confirm feasibility, and schedule the work.
Note: The best configuration depends on your product mix. If you sell a combination of vehicle-specific and universal parts, let us know so we can recommend the right setup for both types.Bulk Product Updates

For many bulk tasks, WSM support can help you complete the work efficiently.

Updating prices in bulk

If you need to change the prices of many items at once, you can supply a prepared price file instead of editing products one at a time. Contact support with your file so we can confirm the required format and help you apply the update.

Bulk deleting products

If you have a large number of products marked for deletion, you do not need to remove them one by one. Products staged for removal can be managed together from the "To Be Deleted" product area in your admin.

If you have a large batch to clear and would like assistance, reach out to support for the fastest way to complete the removal.

Warning: Deleting products is permanent. Double-check your list before removing large batches, as deleted items cannot be easily recovered.

Additional Enhancement Requests

We regularly receive requests for other store enhancements, including:

    • Pick ticket detail: Adding more information to pick tickets, such as which warehouse location is handling the pick, or including assembly part numbers contained in a purchased part.
    • Custom page and vehicle-lookup layouts: Adjustments to "Learn More" pages or sticky vehicle-lookup placement.
    • Accessibility (ADA) compliance: If you have questions about making your website ADA compliant, contact support and we can discuss available options.
For any of these, the best path is to open a support ticket with a clear description of what you'd like to achieve. Screenshots, example URLs, or a written outline of the desired behavior help us scope and schedule the work quickly. How to Submit a Feature or Enhancement Request
    • Contact WSM support through your normal support channel.
    • Clearly describe the change or feature you want and where it should apply on your site.
    • Attach any supporting details (files, screenshots, or example pages).
    • Our team will assess feasibility and timing, then schedule the work and keep you updated.
