GOOGLE MAPS API KEYS:

1. Set up a Google Cloud console account 2. Create a new “Project” in google Cloud Console 3. Ensure there is billing enabled on the account 4. Generate the API keys 4. Configure the API key settings and restrictions 6. Load the API keys to your WSM


Set Up a Google Cloud Console account:

Most clients will already have an established Google Account which is typically the same account as your Google Analytics and Adwords. Obtain the login information for the desired Google Account before moving forward. If you do not have a Google Account for your website or company, you can create one here.

Create a new “Project” in google Cloud Console:

  1.  Create a new Google Cloud project in the Cloud Console:

2.  On the New Project page, fill in the required information: Make sure to name the project something that would make sense to your internal business flow for the site. 

Ensure there is billing enabled on the account:

  1. In the Cloud Console, go to the left-hand navigation and select Billing:
  2. If you have not set up a billing account yet, select “link a billing account and follow the steps to input your payment and link to your project you have created

Generate the API keys:

  1. Go to the left navigation menu and select “APIs & Services” and then “Enable APIs & Services”


  2. Select “+Enable APIS and Services”

  3. Search for “Maps JavaScript API” and select “Enable
  4. Search for “Geocoding API” and select “Enable
  5. Go to the left navigation menu and select “APIs & Services” and then “Credentials
  6. Select “+ Credentials” and select “API Key” select close after the pop comes up


Configure the API key settings and restrictions:

  1. On the same screen select the 3 dots to the right of your new API key and select “Edit Key”
  2. Select “HTTP Referrers (web sites) under “Application Restrictions”
  3. Select “Add Item” under Website Restrictions. Include your domain name in the “Referrer* sectionals outlined here: https://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/*
  4. Select “Restrict key” and in the drop-down search for the “Geocoding API” select it and press OKAY and search for “Maps JavaScript API” select it and press OKAY.
  5. Press save
  6.  Go back to the three dots next to the API Key, and select “Edit Key” 
  7. Then Select “Regenerate Key”

Load the API keys to your WSM site:

  1. In Web Shop Manager, hover over System on the gray toolbar and click Configuration
  2. Under Configuration click the Integrations tab
  3. Click in the box next to Google API key and press Ctrl+V to paste the key into the box
  4. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom right corner of the screen
