How do I correct my YMM(S) fitment search results?

Templates and instructions for troubleshooting incorrect search results and importing fitment into your YMM(S) widget.

If your site uses a vehicle search drop-down widget, you might be wondering why certain products do not display when you select a particular vehicle.  Or, you may be wondering why certain products that do not fit your selected vehicle show up in the results.  Let's walk through each scenario individually.

Search results do not include products for the selected vehicle:

  1. First, check to make sure the product(s) exist.  In the WSM Admin, hover over the Catalog menu, then click Products.  Use the search box to confirm that the product(s) exist.
  2. Check that the product is not hidden.
  3. Edit the product.  Scroll to the Attributes section.  You may need to click the Open Attributes button (this indicates that there is no vehicle fitment assigned to the product).
  4. After working through the steps above, you'll either need to assign the fitment manually in the admin, or, if needing to add fitment to multiple products at the same time, you may use the "Expanding Year Range Template" (see the section below).

Search results include products that do not fit the selected vehicle:

  1. In the WSM Admin, hover over the Catalog menu, then click Products.
  2. Click the edit button.
  3. Scroll to the Attributes section.  You may need to click the Open Attributes button (this indicates that there is no vehicle fitment assigned to the product).
  4. If the product has the incorrect fitment, remove the incorrect row(s) and save the product.
  5. If the product has no fitment, the system considers it to be "universal" and will display the product regardless of the vehicle selected in the search.  You'll either need to assign the fitment manually in the admin, or, if needing to add fitment to multiple products at the same time, you may use the "Expanding Year Range Template" (see the section below).

Importing YMM Fitment

To start, you'll need to download the  YMM With Optional Submodel Import Template with Expanding Year Ranges Jan-2023 template.

💁 The downloadable file requires MS Excel and is a macro-enabled workbook.  You will need to allow macros and acknowledge any security warnings when opening the file.

Please see the video below for instructions on using the template and importing the fitment to your site.

⚠️If your site uses AGS (Advanced Guided Search), your changes may not be immediately reflected.  An index will be required before the site updates on the front end.
