This page explains the patterns present in URL structure and how you can navigate the WSM back-end to find a specific page.
Being able to quickly and efficiently navigate the back end of your WSM account is a valuable tool. By simply looking at the URL on the front end of a WSM account, you will be able to know where to go on the back end of WSM. For example:
- If the URL is www.testsite.com/c-123456-title.html, in order to fix or edit your content, you would go to Catalog then you would click on the Categories option.
WSM URLs include letter(s) that indicate the type of page and, they also include the WSMID for that specific item. For example, in the URL www.testsite.com/c-123456-title.html, you can simply look at what comes immediately after the "/" to find out what type of page it is and where it will be located in the back end. Since a "c" came directly after, we know that it is a category page and can be found in that section in the back end. The WSMID in this example would be the "123456" and I would use this number to find exactly where I need to go and edit my item.
While in the back end of WSM, you will notice that the indicators will direct you to four (4) areas in the back end of WSM. They are Catalog, Content, Modules, and System. Below is a list of all the Indicators along with where they are located within WSM:
