What is Option Inventory Configuration?

The Option Inventory Configuration feature (OIC) allows you to offer variants of a product with independent inventory levels for each variation. Like being able to maintain independent inventory levels for each color & size of a t-shirt.

How do I get OIC?

The Option Inventory Configuration feature is available to all sites at the Grow Plan or higher. If you are interested in adding the OIC feature to your site, please contact your Client Success Manager or submit a Service Desk ticket.

How do I set up OIC?

There are three setup levels available for OIC: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. Read the brief implementation definitions, select the one that will work best for you, then watch the corresponding instructional videos below.

  • Basic Implementation - Assign inventory levels based on one option. For t-shirts, this would be like assigning inventory levels by size. (IE: small, medium, & large)
For implementing this method on your site, please watch the Basic Implementation Instructional Video.
  • Intermediate Implementation - Assign inventory levels based on a combination of options. For t-shirts, this would be like assigning inventory levels by size & color. (IE small blue, medium blue, large blue, small black, medium black, & large black)
For implementing this method on your site, please watch both the Basic & Intermediate Implementation Instructional Videos.
  • Advanced Implementation - Assign inventory levels based on a combination of options AND control the order your options are displayed on the product page. For t-shirts, this would be like assigning inventory levels by size & color AND having the ability to always make size the topmost option displayed on the product page.
For implementing this method on your site, please watch all three Implementation Instructional Videos.
