A nameserver is a server on the internet specialized in handling queries regarding the location of a domain name’s various services.
A nameserver is a server on the internet specialized in handling queries regarding the location of a domain name’s various services. Nameservers are a fundamental part of the Domain Name System (DNS); They allow using domains instead of IP addresses.
Setting custom nameservers allows your visitors to simply type in your domain name & see the content you want them to see!
For most sites on our platform, your DNS records are managed through the WSM Google Cloud DNS service. If you manage your site's DNS outside of WSM, you will have to update those records through your registrar. Setting custom nameservers is often an easy process but each registrar may have certain unique steps to accomplish.
Please see the below list of commonly used registrars and click your registrar's link for a step-by-step guide on how to set up (or change) the nameserver settings for your domain(s).
If you do not see your registrar listed below, you can almost always find a how-to guide by signing into your registrar and doing a search for "change nameserver" or "set custom nameserver".
