Managing Your Customer Account Page Settings
Your Web Shop Manager (WSM) store gives you flexibility over what appears on your customers' My Account page. This article explains some common account-page customizations store owners request, plus how to find account-related information in your admin.
Customizing the My Account Page
The My Account page is where your logged-in customers manage their profile, view orders, and update details. Depending on your business processes, you may want to change what's shown there.
Common customizations include:
- Hiding the address section — Some stores prefer customers not edit their saved address directly, especially when doing so could interfere with orders already being processed.
- Adding a Tax Exempt link — You can add a link on the account page that directs qualifying customers to a tax-exempt request form.
How to request an account-page change
These customizations involve theme/template adjustments, so the WSM team handles them for you.
- Log in to your WSM admin.
- Open a support ticket describing exactly what you'd like changed (for example, "hide the address section" or "add a Tax Exempt link").
- If you're adding a link, include the destination URL you want it to point to.
Note: Changes like these are applied to your store's theme files and may take a short time to review and schedule. Feasibility can depend on your current theme configuration.Newsletter / Email Opt-In Settings
Your account and checkout pages can include a checkbox that lets customers subscribe to promotional emails.
- Whether this box appears is a store setting.
- Some stores ask to change the default state of the checkbox (for example, pre-checked vs. unchecked).
Important: Before changing opt-in defaults, review the marketing and privacy laws that apply to your region and customer base. Pre-checking a consent box may not be permitted in some jurisdictions.Payment Account Access (Authorize.Net / PayPal)
Your Authorize.Net and PayPal accounts are managed directly with those providers, not inside WSM.
- If you can't sign in to Authorize.Net or PayPal, or notice the email tied to your PayPal account has changed unexpectedly, contact the provider's support to secure and recover the account.
- If the change may affect order processing in your store, open a WSM support ticket so we can help confirm your checkout is configured correctly.
Warning: If you suspect any payment account was changed without your authorization, treat it as urgent. Reset your password and enable two-factor authentication with the payment provider right away.
Security Questions
We understand security is a top priority. If you have questions about the safety of your store, account access, or whether it's safe to resume sales, please open a support ticket and our team will assist you directly. For account safety, we recommend:
- Using strong, unique passwords for your admin login
- Limiting admin access to trusted staff only
Need Help?
If you'd like any of the customizations above—or have a question about your account settings—open a support ticket from your WSM admin with the details of your request, and our team will assist you.
