Managing Your Store's Design and Branding Elements

Your store's visual identity—logos, favicons, social media icons, site name, and footer badges—plays a big role in how customers perceive your brand. This guide explains the most common branding elements you can update and how to get them changed.

Site Name and Favicon

Your site name and favicon (the small icon that appears in browser tabs and search results) are managed in your store's site information configuration.

Where to find these settings

You can find the site name and favicon options in your store's admin under the Configuration area, on the Site Information section.

Updating your site name

To change how your store's name is displayed (for example, from "Body Kits" to "BodyKits.com"):

    • Go to your admin Configuration area.
    • Open the Site Information section.
    • Update the site name field to your preferred spelling and formatting.
    • Save your changes.

Updating your favicon

When replacing your favicon, keep these best practices in mind:

    • Use a square image. Favicons display best when they are square.
    • Use a clear, high-resolution image. Small or low-quality images can appear blurry and hard to recognize.
    • Check the color. Make sure the favicon color stands out against browser tabs and search backgrounds.
The favicon can be updated in the same Site Information section of your Configuration.

Note on Google search results: After you update your favicon in your store settings, the icon shown in Google search results may not update immediately. Search engines cache favicons and refresh them on their own schedule, so it can take time for changes to appear. If your favicon appears correctly on your site but looks different in search results, this delay is typically the cause.

Logos and Header Images

Your header logo can be swapped out at any time—for a rebrand, a new design, or a seasonal graphic (such as a holiday-themed logo).

In many cases, you can upload your own logo directly in the WSM admin as a self-service option. We have a help article and video titled "How to Upload Your Logo" that walks you through this process, so you may be able to make the change yourself without submitting a support request.

If you'd prefer to have our team handle it, or if your change is more involved, you can request a logo change:

    • Prepare your new logo file.
    • Contact the WSM Support Team with the image attached and note where it should appear (for example, the header).
    • Let us know if the change is temporary (such as a seasonal logo) and when it should be reverted, if applicable.
Social Media Icons

Social media icons in your header and footer use the Font Awesome icon library. These icons link to your social profiles and can be added, removed, or swapped.

Common social media updates include:

    • Adding a new profile (for example, adding a Facebook icon).
    • Removing a profile you no longer use (for example, removing a Twitter/X icon).
    • Updating the link behind an existing icon.
When requesting a social media icon change, please provide:
    • The platform you want to add or remove.
    • The full URL to your profile (for example, your Facebook page or Instagram username).

Social media feeds and banners

Some stores display a live social media feed or banner on the homepage using a third-party tool such as LightWidget. If your feed appears broken or out of date, it may need to be reconnected. When requesting help, include the affected profile username (for example, your Instagram handle) so the feed can be pointed to the correct account.

Footer Badges and Seals

You can add trust and security badges to your store's footer, such as:

    • PCI Compliance seals
    • Authorize.net seals
These badges are usually added using a code snippet provided by the badge issuer (for example, a script tag from your PCI scanning provider).

To add a footer seal:

    • Obtain the badge code snippet from the provider.
    • Send the snippet to the WSM Support Team, along with a note about where it should appear (typically the footer).
Security note: Only use badge code from trusted, official providers. If you receive a code snippet you're unsure about, ask the WSM Support Team before adding it.Requesting Design Changes

Many branding updates—especially those involving logos, icons, footer content, or template edits—are handled by the WSM design and support team. When submitting a request, please include:

    • A clear description of what you want changed.
    • Any relevant images, links, or code snippets.
    • The specific location on your site (header, footer, homepage, etc.).
Providing these details up front helps us complete your request quickly and accurately.
