Troubleshooting Display and Layout Issues on Your Store

Occasionally you may notice that parts of your store don't look or behave the way you expect. Common examples include a missing cart icon, product options that don't appear, text that's hard to read, prices that don't update, or category and search results showing the wrong products. This article explains the most common display issues, what usually causes them, and the steps you can take before reaching out for help.

Common Display Issues

    • Missing or broken icons (for example, a cart icon that shows only an item count)
    • Layout or alignment glitches (listings stretched too wide, overlapping text, missing tabs or buttons)
    • Unreadable text (light or white text on a light or white background)
    • Product options not showing (some or all option choices missing on a product page)
    • Prices not updating on the storefront after being changed in the admin
    • Wrong products appearing in a category or after a Year/Make/Model (YMM) search
    • Broken links, missing images, or missing files across the site
First Steps You Can Try

Before reporting a problem, it's worth running through a few quick general checks. These won't fix every issue, but they help you confirm what shoppers are actually seeing and rule out simple, temporary glitches:

    • Refresh the page. A hard refresh often resolves temporary glitches such as elements that only appear after reloading.
    • Clear your browser cache, then reload your store.
    • Check the page in a private/incognito window. The admin view can differ from what shoppers see. An incognito window shows the page closer to how a customer views it, which helps confirm whether the issue is live for shoppers.
    • Test on more than one device (for example, both desktop and mobile) to see whether the issue is site-wide.
Note: If a page looks correct while you're logged into the Admin but wrong in an incognito window, the issue is affecting live customers and should be reported. When Prices or Content Don't Update

If you've made changes in the admin (such as updating prices) but the storefront still shows the old information:

    • Confirm the change was saved in the admin.
    • Refresh the storefront page to see whether the updated value now appears.
    • If the change was saved in the admin but the old value still appears after a refresh, this is likely a backend sync issue — the update isn't carrying through to the storefront. Report it to support so it can be reviewed.
When Categories or Search Show the Wrong Products

If a category or a Year/Make/Model (YMM) search returns products that don't match the selection:

    • Double-check the search or category you selected.
    • Note the exact page or search link where the problem occurs.
    • Report the issue with that link so the product-to-category or fitment associations can be reviewed.
After a Site Update

If display problems appear shortly after your site is updated or moved to a new environment (for example, new styling issues, broken alignment, or unreadable text on product pages), these are typically related to the update and can be corrected. Please report them so they can be addressed.

How to Report a Display Issue

To help resolve your issue as quickly as possible, please include:

    • A direct link to the affected page (category, product, cart, or search results)
    • A clear description of what's wrong and what you expected to see
    • Steps to reproduce the issue (for example, "Add several items to cart," or "Sort by lowest price")
    • Screenshots showing the problem
    • The devices and browsers where you can reproduce it (desktop, mobile, incognito)
The more detail you provide, the faster the issue can be identified and fixed.
